About the Author - Leaving it Behind
John W. McCoy brings to his readers a new novel relating the struggles of the Vietnamese people in the aftermath of war. This novel portrays their heroic efforts to survive the drug lords that are rampant in the Golden Triangle, threatening to take over their lives.
John has lived among these people and understands them well, which is conveyed sympathetically to the readers of his books. The Vietnamese people he has met during his times in Vietnam know John well and understand his concerns and compassion for them.
The Vietnam War is over and the lucky ones are fleeing Saigon by any means they can .The South Vietnamese government and the Americans had betrayed them, forcing them to leave families and a life that was now over. 'Leaving it Behind' is a brilliantly conceived plot that captures the weakness of senior bankers and politicians who are manipulated into corruption in a massive way for personnel wealth. The leaders of the drug cartel wanted Langston dead. The leaders of the drug cartel had to be found and destroyed before Langston could start leaving his past behind forever and beginning a new life with his lover.
