Silence, Trips, Church Starting and Morale Covered In Local Author’s Magazine Articles
Christian author and musician, Danny Von Kanel, recently had/ or is having published several articles on a wide gamut of subjects.
Mature Years, a United Methodist publication, will publish his “Sounds of Silence” article in the winter, 2010-2011 issue. Marvin Cropsey, the editor described the piece on acceptance as “highly useful”. It addresses the silence couples face when kids leave home.
His article, “Getting Started” gives the first three steps groups need to take when planning a mission’s trip. “It is a part of a whole series of articles, says Von Kanel, on planning a missions trip.” The article is published by and can be found at www.smallgroups.com. Smallgroups.com is a magazine owned by Christianity Today.
Another article, “Birthing a House Church” has also been accepted by smallgroups.com. The date is yet to be determined. Von Kanel offers three must steps in starting a new house church.
“How Important is Staff Morale” is scheduled to be published by Enrichment Journal, summer 2010 in their online journal. As a church staff member for 33 years and presently serving as one at Roxie Baptist Church, Roxie, Mississippi, Von Kanel knows firsthand the importance of staff morale.
Von Kanel recently led a “Get Published Seminar” at the Ponchatoula Parish library which inspired the first writer’s conference in Ponchatoula scheduled for Saturday, June 26, 2010. Berries Bridges and Books Writers Conference will feature Von Kanel as one of the breakout session leaders.
