| Do your kids enjoy writing? ... |
My adorable 7-yer old niece, Mariella, has her aunt's passion - writing. Of late she has been writing everybody letters. The first letter I received from her had a flower on the envelope - fresh from the garden - and she had asked her Dad to mail as it was, with the flower. Of course she demanded a reply - and wanted the letter to be mailed.
With the new age of technology with smsing, e-mails and internet I can't even remember where the post office is!
"I can borrow you my stamps if you don't have any, aunt Sandra," she just had to make me feel like a bad aunt.
I dutifully replied her - my letter was typed of course - yeah I'm bad and lazy. To make up for being bad and lazy I wrote her two stories and drew her some pictures to colour in. Yeah, I'm the best aunt ever, lol.
I am trying to encourage her to love reading and writing - and learning - thanks goodness so far she just loves it.
She is such a good student that it was just last Sunday on our way from church that she taught me - the student has now become the teacher - how to dodge a traffic police - after we were stopped by one.
"Aunt Sandra, just cry like mommy does or say sorry like daddy does," she had suggested.
Hopefully that's not what a pen pal would teach her, lol.
A pen pal of her age would be great. She has hinted sending me a butterfly in her next letter. Groan, I love my baby, but the idea of chasing butterflies to send her back is not very appealing, lol, and I'm just too old.
If you have nephews, nieces, kids of Mariella's age who would like to exchange letters with my niece I would really appreciate it.
