Synthia SAINT JAMES Unveils New Art On East Coast

Guest House Gallery Presents “An Evening with Synthia SAINT JAMES”

Indigo Arms’ Guest House Gallery proudly presents world renowned artist and author Synthia SAINT JAMES, in celebration of her 40 years as a professional artist, on Saturday, April 4, 2009 from 6-9pm.

Ms. SAINT JAMES will be unveiling her recently released limited edition giclees on canvas of “Fire Rainbow Obama” (celebrating our new President), “Butterflies Dream”, and “Tuscan Sunflowers”, which will all be available for purchase at reduced introductory prices for that evening only. Her latest two collaborations with master artist Charles Bibbs, “Nana’s Arms” and “Brown Beauties” will also be available at introductory prices.

Indigo Arms’ Guest House Gallery is located at 181 Lenox Avenue at 119th Street in Harlem, New York. This private gallery is located in a newly renovated brownstone which has recently opened their doors as a Bed & Breakfast.

Synthia SAINT JAMES, international award winning artist and designer of the first United States Postal Stamp for the Kwanzaa holiday, has to date written and or illustrated 13 children’s picture books, 3 poetry and prose books, 4 children’s activity books, a cookbook, and a postcard book. Her art also graces the covers of over 60 books including books by Alice Walker, Terry McMillan and Iyanla Vanzant.
SAINT JAMES celebrated her 60th birthday and is celebrating her 40th anniversary as a professional artist this year. According to SAINT JAMES, her first birthday present was her fantastic licensing agreement with Barnes and Noble, the nation’s largest chain of bookstores. Merchandise featuring her artwork is available in their 800 stores and on their website.

Currently, SAINT JAMES is working on several projects including a recently commissioned painting for actress, playwright and director Regina Taylor for the merchandising of her play “Crowns”, which opens in Los Angeles this May.

SAINT JAMES, also a popular speaker and presenter, is currently booking speaking engagements, appearances and exhibitions for 2009/2010.
