For weeks Mississippi's own Cyrus A. Webb has been preparing for a series of events that will re-introduce him to his fans as well as hopefully garner him a new audience. Now, several weeks before he celebrates his 32nd birthday, Webb is ready to share what is coming up with him.
On Wednesday, May 30th, Cyrus Webb will have his first nationwide interview of the year. This will take place via internet radio at www.artistfirst.com and will be heard all over the world LIVE. Webb will be talking about the recent release of his second spoken word cd MY CONTROVERSY, his upcoming art exhibits as well as the brand he has built over the past 10 years. The interview will take place at 6p.m. EST (that is 5p.m. CST, 4p.m. MST and 3p.m. PST), and he will be able to take your calls and emails during the show.
During the entire month of June 2007, Webb will be celebrating his first official art show of the year. This will be at the offices of Mississippi Blood Services, and will feature some of his signature pieces as well as several new ones that have not been viewed before. Webb first worked with MS Blood Services in 2000 when he designed their coloring book. He is looking forward to returning and sharing another aspect of his "voice."
In July 2007, Webb will be hosting TWO DAYS of events that will usher in his 32nd birthday. The first will be his FIRST EVER booksigning for the rerelease of his novella DESTINY'S CHILD.
The book, initially released online in 2006, has gained traction and prompted Webb and Shadow Play Publications to release the book again in print. For a summary of the book, click here. The first book signing will take place at the Pearl Public Library 11-1p.m. on Saturday, July 14, 2007, and the second will be at the Richard Wright Library 3-5p.m. the same day.
On Tuesday, July 17, 2007 (Webb's actual birthday), he will host 32: My World through the arts. This will take place at the Medgar Evers Library from 1-5:30p.m., featuring a collection of Webb's work, including artwork, his poetry books and novellas, the work of fellow Mississippi author Sabrina Andrews and more! AT 6p.m. the same day, Webb will be the special guest of the Conversations Book Club at the Medgar Evers Library, where they will be discussing the book DESTINY'S CHILD.
All of these events are free to the public and refreshments will be served.
