Some of you may recall I asked for reviewers for my Charitable CD Project, "Hope for the Holidays."
Well they're in and I wanted to share them:
"That was wonderful. I enjoyed the mix of spoken word and music. Not Only Christmas Day was a very moving poem and caused me to feel the inspiring message. The birth of Jesus would be something I'd want people to hear and take to heart. Christmas Love to you worked without the music but some people would probably want the option to add their own choice of music. Having it dedicated to someone you love is a great idea. I hope this cd does so well for you and God bless."
"You have a wonderful speaking voice, Beverly. The only thing I would do is go a little slower and speak just a wee bit deeper. It could be, too, that I hear high-pitched tones extremely well and respond to bass [not the bumping, throbbing kind ~ LOL] a little better.
I especially liked the Birth of Jesus and the instrumentals are great. I can't wait to hear the rest of it!!!!!"
"I listened and VERY much loved the CD!!! Loved your music selections, thought your poems were very nice! (Particularly loved 'not only on Christmas' because it's a message we so often forget!!!! Now, I then read that you were going to have two 'light hearted' additions to this and personally, I'd say they belong on another CD. I loved the way you were reaching out to our Christianity and the true spirit and MEANING of the holiday. I would keep to that focus on this CD. I just think you've established a sacred tone and I would stick to that same voice. It's God's work. You do a lovely job reading and have a beautiful speaking voice!"
"I just love this CD!! You've done a wonderful job!! The one track that you personalize, I think music adds a wonderful touch. Wishing you much success with this project! You're awesome girlfriend!!"
Hugs and Blessings,
"That is wonderful and I just ordered mine. Can you please put Larry on the I wish one. That is so lovely.
Thank You and Merry Christmas."
1. Not only on Christmas day
"OK, Bev, this is not really my style. Plus I don't care for the music. This is just a little too heavy for me. I love Christmas, but I was not brought up religious. I know many people will appreciate it, but for me... I would not be the happiest person on earth to listen to it on a CD.
2. The birth of Jesus
The story of the little baby Jesus is always a joy to listen to. And THIS a the right music accompanying it. Nice pauses. Well told and with the right intonation.
3. Christmas love to you
And the fact that you personalize it makes it so very "warm". Without music is a good idea; this is about the WORDS."
Not Only Christmas Day:
"Beautiful music. Your voice is melodic and the verse is very appropriate to the music and mood. I like the way your voice follows the music (accident? Doesn't seem to be). Very moving! You just gave me chills. Oh, well done!
The Birth of Jesus:
Again...your voice moves well with the music. You have a beautiful voice and you are using it well. Okay "Because there was no room for them in the inn" seems to drop a little too much. If you can't dub, I wouldn't fix it...not that much of an issue because the rest is excellent.
Christmas Love to You:
Very sweet! Yes, I would put to something very soft and sweet. Great job!"

OK...there you have it. So far the response has been TREMENDOUS. Because I network on other sites, I have lots of orders to fill plus my fellow church members are buying copies and spreading the word. Get yours before they sell completely out: http://www.talk2bev.com/holiday.htm
I can't think of a better way to support some worthwhile charitable causes this holiday season.
