Whiskey Creek Press has announced that "Wild Side" by Laurie Lonsdale will be re-released in July 2008. With its initial release, "Wild Side" was voted among the Top Ten fiction novels of 2004 in the "Preditor's and Editor's" international readers' poll. The book was also featured in "Book Den", a marketing venture with Hallmark, wherein readers could buy autogaphed copies of top sellers. Though the cover will be re-designed to fit with the Whiskey Creek catalogue, the story shall remain the same. When the book originally debuted in September 2004, it was accompanied by a 3-song mini-soundtrack inspired by the story. This time around, the music, which was developed by Laurie and award-winning vocalist Heidi Propp, has been expanded upon to a full-length 12-song CD, titled "Strong and Wild", currently available at RDR Music, CD Baby, Apple iTunes, Sony Connect, Play and Pay, Nexhit, Napster, and at Verizon Wireless as ringtones for cellular phones. With its roots in the story, the CD makes a great companion piece for the book, and will be featured along with the novel as a package deal.
Prior reviews for the rock 'n' roll thriller will remain in place; however, new reviews will also be sought. Here are some comments from the first release.
“Wild Side is a sexy, saucy, rock ‘n’ roll thriller that empowers, enlightens, and – most importantly – entertains.” R. Scott Bolton – Editor – RoughEdge Magazine – www.roughedge.com
“Wild Side is a riveting account of one woman as she attempts to find her true self during the drug-infused, sex-obsessed, and often dangerous 80’s heavy metal scene. Laurie Lonsdale has written the most action-packed “Behind the Music” episode ever!!”
Chris Dugan – Editor – Metal Dreams – www.metaldreams.go.to
"Booze, drugs, sex, a stalker, romance, and rock n'roll! This book almost sounded like a story of my life! How could I not love it?” Brian Vollmer – Lead vocals - Helix – www.planethelix.com
“Wild Side is a tidy little thriller in addition to portraying the best and worst of fame's rewards. Such a life is not all fun and frolic, and the author does a good job of showing both sides. The language and sexual situations are graphic so the book is recommended for mature readers. If you've ever wondered what it's like to be a famous rock band - warts and all - check this one out.” Laurel Johnson - MidWest Book Reviewer
“To understand the 80s, you had to be there, but if you weren't, ‘Wild Side’ is the next best thing.” Billy Childs – Britny Fox - www.wcafe.com/britny
"Laurie's talent, imagination, and years of experience in the music industry have come together to create one big blast. This thrilling, bold drama is her best yet." Caroline McIntosh – Author – Ruth Bay and the Minotaur
