| I met Mr. Daryl Holland several months ago at a candle vigil for three slain Richmonders. I thank Daryl for mentioning my book (at the end of the displayed news article) as a book that he is currently reading. Mr. Holland is one of the founders and Director of Youths For Social Change, which is located at Richmond, Virginia. Daryl invited me to autograph my books at a Street Festival at historical Jackson Ward during August, but I was away on vacation at the Bahamas. I have also met Daryl at community meetings and crime summits that were held to reduce violent crimes and killings in the Richmond Metropolitan Area. Daryl is the type of leadership that Richmond needs during its time of turmoil and growth. Daryl realizes, as depicted in the attached newspaper article, that one of the key factors to reducing crime is providing economical opportunities to our youths. It is now my desire and goal to mentor youths who have interest in becoming authors and to provide a vehicle whereas they can attain their goals. I waited until I was forty-six years old to author my books and reveal to the world the secret of a black family (my own family), which has captivated audiences. My books have encouraged people of all cultures to consider more positive solutions to personal and social issues than domestic and community violence. |
