PRESS RELEASE – FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Best Selling Horror Author Will Be Signing For Hunger At Myrtle Beach Bike Week
Best Selling Psychological Thriller/Horror Author of The All-Soul’s Faire and Crows on the Cross; Kristy Tallman, will be on site with the Bikers Against Hunger group at Myrtle Beach Bike Week. Her goal is to sell enough books and gain donations to fill an 18-Wheeler with food for the hungry before she leaves.
Tallman will be signing at the Bikers Against Hunger Hardrock Café booth throughout the week. “I really want to fill a truck up for this organization even though I know it’s a very high goal. They are working so hard to feed not only the homeless, but also families who find themselves fallen on hard times. I’ve been there in my past and know how difficult it was to make ends meet, let alone afford to have a good amount of groceries in the house for my kids.”
The Bikers Against Hunger is a nationwide non-profit organization, they accept donations of food and monetary donations. This year at MBBW they will have ten booths spread out through the area. You can find a list of these on their MySpace page.
“Our goal is a continual supply of food to the pantries and outreach centers that we reach in these areas. Our vision is to reach out each year, with a world wide reach to feed the hungry.” said Pastor Brent Turnipseed. “We plan to feed on site as well have bike games, poker run, 50/50 raffle, auction, door prizes, music, something for everyone of all ages.”
Tallman will be donating 20% of the proceeds for every book she sells, while also collecting monetary donations, and she has extended her reach by using her MySpace page to set up a way to submit donations for those who can’t attend. At the end of the week she intends on handing Co-Founder Pastor Brent a check that will hopefully fill at least one 18-wheeler full of food. Beyond that, Tallman wishes to continue her efforts by helping to create a chapter for Virginia.
