The Office Party is on!
Mystery author Chari Davenport would like to announce her latest mystery novel in her first mystery series, The Office Party.
“Completing the first novel was a dream come true. Then, when I learned that my second novel was going to be published I just sat down and thanked God for this wonderful opportunity.” Davenport said.
Davenport plans to create a scholarship fund for young, underprivileged aspiring writers and plans to donate a portion of her royalties to this cause.
“I have always wanted to help others and I realized that this would be a great way to encourage young people who want to pursue a career in writing. It’s really important to me to give back some of what I have been blessed with and this, for me, was the best way.”
The Office Party was released in April 2004. Davenport is already busy promoting her new novel in addition to her first success, The Christmas Party. Similar to her first mystery, The Office Party will be available through all major booksellers as well as select independent mystery bookstores. Below is a brief summary of this exciting new book.
The Office Party
Carolyn Woodsmith, CEO of the Paintwater Corporation, is found murdered on the day of the office party. To prepare for the party, Marvis Simmons created a giant maze full of twists and turns. When Carolyn doesn’t arrive at the party Sasha Talas goes to find her and discovers that Carolyn was bludgeoned to death with one of her own business awards.
One of Paintwater’s most valued clients decides to sue the firm after making a bad investment. A fortune lost, the client learns that the adviser wasn’t qualified. Backstabbing and finger pointing ensue as the staff tries to recover from a stained image.
Marshall Edmonds returns to help unravel the strange events that lead to Carolyn Woodsmith’s death. It isn’t long before he reveals that like the maze, the Woodsmith case is full of twists and turns, backstabbing and mayhem and circumstances that could only happen in the office!
