Growing The Vegetables

Home & Garden
Working the land is such an imposible thing in some peoples minds, but it''s suprising how easy it is, with a little Know How

When preparing any kind of container for growing VEGETABLES, FLOWERS etc.. It is useful to know that a good supply of nutrients in the Compost/Soil, is a necessary component. If you visit a Garden Centre from time to time, you may see a collection of vegetables, that you can buy in their infant stages, ready for planting into your garden or allotment plot. I like to grow 'Runner Beans' (If you can run fast enough, to catch them). The method for 'Runner Beans' is to dig a trench, the length of which is governed by the amount of 'Runner Beans'you wish to grow, a spacing of about 10" between 'Runner Beans', the width usually stays the same, throughout. The trench needs to be, about 15" Deep, and what i do is collect bags of leaves (Autumn Time) to fill up the trench, to about half way (about 7 or 8 inches deep). Fill in the rest of the space with a Compost/Soil mix and churn it together, then place Canes of 'Bamboo' at similar spacing to the beans, but not on top of them, about 3" away, so that the bean has an unobstructed root spread. Have fun, nice boiled with a knob of butter.
