UPDATE 12-26-12 :::.E-Bay Blues - Computer Fraud Update 12-07

5/31/2006 5:44:00 AM

by Karen Gallo Dunn

e-Bay continues to harrass me endlessly.
UPDATE 12/26/12 A collection agency contacted me today attempting to collect a debt from e-Bay for $89.96
I sent e-Bay to this website for documentation of the aggravation
I continue to get from this organization

Get off my back - this account has been closed since February. As far as I am concerned, all ebay has done is stall and slam on the brakes. You will receive as much notoriety as I can provide regarding your greedy gripping irritating clutches that you place on anyone who tries to leave ebay.

Letter From 12-24-07 -- E-Bay just don't get it !!!! eBay Unpaid Item Dispute #200122150768 - Response Required

Dear member, eBay member skaeserbackgrounds (14122) has that they already paid for item #200122150768

Review the submitted details regarding the payment. Regards, eBay International AG

MY RESPONSE -------I DON'T HAVE AN ACCOUNT xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

On March 21, 2007

, I received a call from a collection agency re: my e-bay account that I have been trying to close for years. I explained it to the man that I do not have an e-bay account, I never sold anything on e-bay and I don't know why they just don't get it.

Last year, I set up an E-Bay Store and it was extremely difficult and tedious. Unsuccessful in this endeavor and paying monthly for this exposure, I decided to chalk it up to another tried but didn't quite get there experience on the internet OF WHICH I have had several.

I tried for months to cancel this account - it is nearly impossibly and I really thought at one time I succeeded as you will see if you have the patience to read through this saga of e-bay bullshit. I would appreciate comments from others who just could not cancel their connection with e-bay.  Also, I want to enlighten others who may believe e-bay is a treasure and great opportunity and easy!! Because of 3 months of harrassment from e-bay as explained below, I had to write a very bad business letter which may make you feel I stopped taking my hormone pills too soon, however, enough is enough.

Please check with others who have attempted to make a successful business opportunity with e-Bay and then realized it was too much! Ask them, how did they ever cancel their account and I believe you will hear the same story over and over. After you request cancellation, they send you a letter asking if you are sure because once you cancel you cannot get another account with e-bay EVER again as long as your live. Once you had a snake bite WOULD you EVER want another? This goes on over and over again with different writers:

: Stall tactics to drive you nuts. I have vigorously attempted to close this ridiculous circle jerk account since February 2006, In spite of several attempts, I have received numerous robotic letters stalling this permanent closure. I would like reimbursement for payments from Feb, March and April. I had to cancel my bankcard then have my bank put a stop payment on the continuous charges

. E-Bay uses stall tactics that are ignorant, absurd and irritating. Joe Public should be aware of the capture of your life once you sign up for e-Bay. It is like the hotel California - you can check out any time you like BUT YOU CAN NEVER LEAVE.

As an author at authorsden.com, I will reprint every letter and correspondence we have had since February threatening to never allow me to open another e-bay account and believe me I will NEVER want an account with e-Bay and the threat of not being able to open another account is a pleasure.  My legitimate requests have not satisfied their appetite to harass me and to certify that I am seriously not interested in e-bay. They are now threatening to charge me for May after I had to cancel my bank card and they have my bank place a STOP payment for e-bay billing

. Please note, I have never sold anything or made any money or used e-Bay except to attempt to set up an account. It has been the worst experience I have had on the Internet. Heed this information! Do not join e-Bay unless you are prepared to go through an insane rigorous journey of departing from their inane process of cancellation when they said, :::you thought and then::: you believe:::e-Bay is a tedious and full time occupation. Karen Dunn

5-31-06 To e-Bay Irresponsible Personnel Get off my back - this account has been closed as far as I have requested since February. You will receive as much notoriety as I can provide regarding your greedy gripping irritating clutches that you place on anyone who tries to leave e-Bay. I have several letters -- one including an offer to refund my money from March and April. Furthermore, I have canceled this account and it is so unprofessional that you have robots instead of real people responding to the public. No human would send such stupid correspondence without reading the replies of the customer. Do I need to get an attorney to get you off my back? Your stalling tactica and insults are absurd and I promise you I will never go to e-Bay nor would I ever recommend anyone to set up an account or support your company. You are a leach and a blood sucking organization who annoys the public.

Karen Dunn After several attempts, on 2-17-06, I wrote this to e-Bay Closing Your eBay Account > account closure request Message: Please close my account immediately. You should make it as easy to close an account as open an account. I have attempted to close this account for months. However, there is no phone number on my bank statement you charge every month. There is no access or reasonable explanation on how to cancel your account on your home page. My bank suggested I cancel my credit card and apparently ebay is on my checking account. I have not used this service ever and I would like to cancel and not pay for February and I only wish I could get back all the months I never used it which was always

. Karen Dunn 2-20-06 Thank you for contacting us. My name is Haley and I'm sorry to hear that you wish to close your eBay account. Is there anything we can do to change your mind? Please reply to this email, tell us about any unresolved issues, and let us do our best to help resolve them to your satisfaction. Please be aware that closing an account is a serious step because your account will be blocked from both eBay and Half.com, your contact information will be concealed, and your Feedback Profile will no longer be available.

THEN THEY CHARGED ME FOR FEB, AND MARCH 4-12-06 Hello Karen, Thank you for taking the time to write us. My name is Sean from eBay Customer Support, and I appreciate the opportunity to assist you with your concern regarding closing your account. 4-27-06 Hello Karen, Thank you for writing to us. I appreciate the opportunity to assist you with your question about closing your store. I can understand this situation is very frustrating but we need you to close your store. For security reasons and even legal reasons, we can not close your store. Even if you requested and have copies of emails that you sent to request to close your store on your behalf, we can not make exceptions. Closing your store is not a hard procedure, it only involves 3 easy steps. I have include instructions on how to close your store. I could not find screenshots to assist you or otherwise I would include them for you. You can cancel your subscription online by following these steps: 1. Click on the "My eBay" button at the top of most pages. You may be asked to sign in. 2. Click on "Subscriptions" under the "My Account" section. This section is located in the column on the left side of the page. 3. Your current subscriptions will be shown at the top. Click the "Unsubscribe" link to close your Store. After confirming the decision to close your store your subscription will be cancelled. Any unused portion of the subscription fee will be automatically refunded to your eBay account balance, and all storefront listings will be ended. If you sell in large quantities, an eBay Stores gives you an added advantage over regular sales including: - One unique destination for all your listings: auction and Fixed Price - Your own Custom Internet address for use on your mailings, email footers, invoices, and letterhead - Your own Logo and Custom Categories eBay Stores also give you the tools you need to sell more, quicker and easier: - A Search Engine that allows buyers to search through your listings. - Control over your cross selling with Merchandising Manager A basic subscription entitles you to all of this plus the ability to list your store inventory items for just $.02 per listing, regardless of the quantity. So accessory and add-on items are always available to potential buyers! If you decide to reopen your Store, you can select the "Open a Store" link from the eBay Stores page at: http://www.ebaystores.com Once you have closed your store and are admitted about removing credit card/bank info information, please respond to this email and let me know. We can't completely close a seller's account. What we can do is remove your credit card and bank account information. This will make your seller's account inactive. Please keep in mind that you can still accrue fees if you have any listings remaining on the site. You can also accrue monthly charges for open subscriptions, for example, to Selling Manager, Seller's Assistant or eBay Stores. To avoid subscription fees, make sure you cancel all of your subscriptions, if you have any. If you'd like us to remove your credit card and bank information, please reply to this email to make that request. We'll be happy to do that for you. Please let me know if you have credit card or bank information on file so I can remove it for you. If you need further assistance, please don't hesitate to reply to this email and let us know. Regards, Juan F.

Regards, Sam R. eBay Customer Support 6-1-06 Hello Karen, Thank you for writing to us. I appreciate the opportunity to assist you with your question regarding your eBay account. After carefully reviewing your account, I found that there is a past due balance of $17.23. As a result, your account has been placed on hold by our automated system. This hold will prevent you from listing any new items for sale on eBay. To verify the various charges to your account, please take a moment to review your Account Status page. To view your account activity, please follow the steps below: 1. First, you need to be sure you are not signed in to eBay. To know if you are signed out, be sure the link under the "My eBay" link (at the top of the page) says "Sign in" and not "Sign out." If the link says "Sign out," please click on the link to sign out. 2. Click on the "My eBay" button at the top of most eBay pages. You will then be asked to sign in to your account. 3. On your My eBay page, click the "My Account" link located in the column on the left side of the page. 4. Next, click the (View account status) link. 5. The next page will display your account status. If you wish to view a previous invoice, click the (View invoices) link and then select the invoice you wish to view from the drop down menu. To make a one-time payment by check, money order, credit card, or directly from your checking account, please follow these steps below. Again, first make sure that you have signed out of eBay. 1. Click the "site map" link at the top of any eBay page. 2. From the Site map, click the link "Make a Single Payment." This link is located in the middle column under the heading "My Selling Account." 3. On the following screen, you will receive a notice about your suspension. Please click on the "Continue" link at the bottom of the page. 4. On the next page, at the bottom, click the link that corresponds to what you want to do. The links you will see there are as follows: Pay with your credit card Make a Direct Pay payment Mail in a check or money order 5. On the next page, fill in the requested payment information and click "Continue." Once payment for the last invoiced amount has posted to your account, our automatic system will release the hold on your account and you can start selling on eBay again immediately. If you need further assistance, please don't hesitate to reply to this email and let us know. Tahira Q. eBay Customer Accounts Collections Department

If you need further assistance, please don't hesitate to reply to this email and let us know. Khan L. eBay Customer Accounts Collections Department 6-10-06 We are writing to alert you that your monthly eBay seller fees have not been paid because your bank declined eBay's attempt to automatically deduct them from your bank account via Direct Pay. As stated in the eBay Direct Pay Agreement, eBay may have assessed a Returned Item Fee to your account. If this fee has been assessed, it will appear on your next invoice. Please remember that some bank accounts may be subject to usage limits set by your bank. There may be daily transaction limits or other restrictions that may cause the decline. Please contact your bank to determine the cause of the decline. Please note that this notice may not reflect payments made within the past 5 business days. If your balance is $0.00 or you have recently made a payment, please disregard this message. Please pay your eBay seller fees immediately in order to avoid becoming past due on your account. Please follow these steps to make a payment: 1. Go to the eBay Home page. 2. Click My eBay at the top of the page, and sign in with your eBay User ID and password. 3. Click the "Seller Account" link (beneath My Account in the left navigation menu). 4. Follow the instructions for making a payment. As a reminder, past due accounts may be restricted from buying or selling until payment is received. Regards, eBay, Inc. 6-12-06 eBay sent this message to Karen Dunn( kmd16703).
