| Recent speaking engagment |
Well hello all,
I want to thank everyone who reads or keeps up with my work here on Authorsden. I was recently asked to speak at a the Dallas BAR Asso here in Dallas, TX.
I was a guess speaker for a training conf. on International Child Abduction. Of course, anyone who follows my work knows that Child Abduction prevention is my soul reason for what I do. As a former abducted child I know better than most what a child goes through.
After sitting in a room with 80+ lawyers I was finally asked to speak. That lump in my throat quickly engulfed my lips and I choked. I was able not to show my nervousness to any one in the room. After I was done speaking there was a short Q&A session. Many found that having a personal story attached to the legal jargon helped in seeing the other side; the child's side.
One of the nicest compliments I received was being told I should write a book. As a writer and story teller this was a wonderful compliment. I of course informed the laywer that I was currently writing a book and hoped to have it published one day.
I guess in the end of this news blog what I am trying to say is; it always helps when we as writers are able to have a voice. This allows us to reevalute what we have written and to find new ways to look at our art.
Once again, thank you for following my work and I wish all you the best. Happy weekend.
Kindest Regards,
Ken Connelly
