Sources for these topics come directly from the textbook, movies and lecture notes. The use of outside sources should be used to reinforce valid points.

 

Note: this is not a group project. PLAGIARISM IS NOT AN OPTION. NO LATE PAPERS will be ACCEPTED.

 

1. Explain what was going on in the western hemisphere (America) before the 1492 campaign. Flourishing cultures etc.

2. Describe African Enslavement & the terrible transformation as it relates to the old U.S. south.

3. Imperial Breakdown: discuss the issues & competition between the European powers (French, English, Dutch, and Spain) and what happened as a direct result in North America & Western Hemisphere.

 

*Essay Format: You can use any of the major writing styles such as APA, MLA or Chicago, but you must at least have 1000 words, typed, and double-spaced (not handwritten), with the use of font size (12) and New Courier only, not TIMES ROMAN!  You must have all page Margins at 1-inch from all borders.  No cover page is necessary, unless you want for style.  It is required that you use more than four (4) sources for your ESSAY.  Make sure to site your sources, & use notes when needed.  Please use the standard form of Introduction, body & conclusion in your papers.  Not applying any of the mentioned above will result in the negative category when grading. Each deduction is minus 10, and late papers will be – 35.

 

Sources need to be documented with endnotes, footnotes, multimedia references, bibliography, worked cited page, etc.

 

ONLY ONE INTERNET SOURCE CAN BE USED, BUT IT IS NOT REQUIRED.  A LIBRARY DATABASE DOES NOT COUNT AS AN INTERNET SOURCE.  MAGAZINES, BOOKS, AND ETC…SHOULD BE USED.
