For the last two months or so I've been working with Myles Archibald, director of Collins (of HarperCollins), to construct the working synopsis of a major new science book. I think, perhaps, we are just about there now. And it is looking very exciting indeed.
Strange that readers never put together the two seemingly very different facets of my writing - the science and the fiction. Nobody has asked himself or herself what books such as The Forgotten Plague and Virus X - both front page reviews in the New York Times and Washington Post - have to do with The Snowmelt River and The Doomsday Genie. And yet they have come out of the same creative mind.
And that is both telling and interesting...
