Ten Chapters Sneek Peek!
 

Dear Readers,

Although I'm am thrilled in winning the Spinetinglers 2008 Book of the Year award, I've decided to expand my readerbase by offering to share the first 10 chapters of my book for free. That's right, I'm offering the first 10 chapters sneek peek for free! Not because its not selling, it's actually doing quite well. I just want everyone to spread the word around to neighbors and friends in the USA and overseas, so that everyone who loves books are prepared for the next book coming up in the Amber Shadows series.

Do you know any author/illustrator that is willing to do this? I'm inclined to believe no. Not many would and that's why I've decided to do this . . . strictly for promotion to build a readership base for the rest of the series.

I must admit after hearing this idea from a successful author friend of mine, my first reaction was, "But I need to make money!" Then I thought it over. The first book is really more about getting your name out there to the readers so when the second book in the series comes out, people are familiar with your work and more than likely buy the whole series.

I'm a new author, so asking my readers to read the first 10 chapters for free, then spread the word about its story like wildfire is my objective. In return, I will do the same for anyone needing their book promoted, or anyone with a friend who authored a book needing promotion. Authorsden is not my only website, I also have one on myspace.com which gets alot of traffic, so I will be happy to post a good word for your book on my site.

All I ask of my readers in return is the following:

1) Read my 10 free chapters downloadable here on Authorsden.com by going to my site.

2) Spread the word if you like the book to as many people as you can, and let them know it is the first book in a series.

3) You may pirate/share the 10 free chapters as long as my name is posted along with the contents and nothing is changed in content. You will need my permission for this as everything is copywrited and I hold the rights. Anyone not asking permission will find themselves in trouble legally, so please write to me at MWillett.Ameritech.net for permission. Include your name, email address, phone number to be reached at, and the sites you want to submit my work out to. Doing this actually helps to reach a larger audience and promotes the book.

I was reluctant in doing this, however, my author friend took it upon himself to do this, and he had an unbelievable reaction from readers wanting to buy his book series.

4) In return, I will help promote your work/book on myspace.com on my website and even here at Authorsden. If it's a friend's book that you want help promoting, I will do that as well.

C) If you want the paperback/hardback, I've noticed that Barnes and Noble online is the best price. If you go into a store, you can order online through them too.
