Recently we moved to the Home Place, the old family farmstead, a piece of land that has been in our family since 1893.  There were no suitabale structures on the land to convert or update to modern, green standards, so we built a new house using as many green options as possible and affordable.   Now, 119 years after my great-grandfather set out to tame the land, we’re following in his footsteps, trying to retame it to fit our vision:  a home where we can gather family, friends and friends we haven’t met yet to create new memories and to share the peace and serenity of the country.
