New Generation of Nashville Artists
Monday, July 30, 2007  7:17:00 AM

by Eric Zanetis

Music
Unique New Album of Select Artists.

The popular press offers a continuous bombardment of articles and snippets on the beautiful people in musical entertainment - those splendid faces which front the music – and yet few editorials reveal the artists whose works precede the stars: the ante artists, the songwriters.

Eric Zanetis is a second generation songwriter. His father Alex enjoyed a 40-year career creating music recorded by a who’s who of illustrious and beautiful music impresarios including Dean Martin, Lou Rawls, Maria Callas, Howard Keel, Sammy Davis, Jr., Jim Reeves, George Jones, Brenda Lee, Dottie West, Eddy Arnold, Kitty Wells, Hank Williams, Jr., Waylon Jennings, and the list continues.

Zanetis the younger first received recognition as a music publisher, having coached two unknown songwriters towards the delivery of the incomparable song Don’t Take the Girl to present-day impresario and song aficionado Tim McGraw. Since then Zanetis has kept his silhouette behind a small side curtain backstage - publishing, producing, and managing artists - while his peers have been persistent at pulling the curtain back to exhibit his more exotic musical creations.

November 5, 2007 marks the official release date of a disc of collaborations between Zanetis and an uncommon group of Nashville amplifiers of emotions, whose inscriptions are sought by record buyers worldwide, yet whose own faces and voices are rarely seen or heard outside the forlorn shadows of the inner industry.

HOLIDAY is a set of signature songs written and performed by a blend of artists including Zanetis; the curtain having been fully drawn aside for this venture.

PLAY ONE FOR MY BABY is the first single hitting radio stations November 5, perhaps the surest of hits represented on an album otherwise devoid of trendy-ness. The curtain is yanked to expose the dexterity in the art of Nashville’s ante artists.
