Hot off the presses is Beacons of Tomorrow: An Anthology of Science Fiction and Fantasy, published by Tyrannosaurus Press. The 240-page book includes 18 thought-provoking tales of speculative fiction, ranging from the supernatural to the surreal, from the fantastic to the futuristic.

Eric Pinder, author of several nonfiction books including North to Katahdin and Among the Clouds, contributes to the anthology with his first foray into genre fiction with the 7,000-word novelette "The Pit." Two swashbuckling adventurers must escape from demons, desert nomads, the swirling sands, and the most fearsome enemy of all--their girlfriends' father.

Stories in the anthology were selected from the Illuminations Speculative Fiction Writing Contest.
