How To Escape The Black Woman Syndrome
Tuesday, October 02, 2007  5:03:00 PM

by Areina Jerran

Detroit Publisher and Author travels to Damascus, Syria to complete first non-fiction title.

Detroit Author and CEO, Areina Jerran is destined to make a stir in the community with her literary talents. With the war in the Middle East and problems with kidnapping journalist overseas, author Areina Jerran ignored the headlines and packed her bags during Islam's Ramadan season of 2006 and traveled to Damascus, Syria for fifteen days to complete her second title. Without the prior knowledge of the Arabic language only guided by a moderate translator.

Areina Jerran is the author of Sess Obsession (urban fiction) and also the CEO of a self-publishing company ReinChild Productions, inc. Being a non-conformist, she used her unusual tactics in creating "How To Escape The Black Woman Syndrome".

How To Escape The Black Woman Syndrome, comes at a time when black people are not only treated with little to no dignity, but the minority community continues to make bad decisions based upon lifetime goals and basic family values. Black woman seem to have lost the view point of how to achieve more and are being feed more consumer friendly information than individuality based ideas. Areina Jerran claims to have been a statistic in the United States and realized that this was more of a problem than a solution to her agony.

While writing the manuscript in Damascus, Syria Areina Jerran says that the essence of the foreign land helped her to realize the importance of the woman and embrace her nature. The manuscript was a plotted strategy that she contemplated, yet a random vision that came to her one day at her desk. While gathering the information for the book, she was led on a blind journey to a foreign without anyone to communicate with for fifteen days.

Areina Jerran speaks about her how-to manual: "In the summer/fall of 2006 it was put onto my heart to write this manual. In writing there was not a script or format to go by and I definitely didn't spend hours trying out the concept; as I have done hundreds of times before. I simply began to write. When I realized what I was writing joy overcame me. After I began writing I realized that these were the exact steps that I had took to become who I am today."

How To Escape the Black Woman Syndrome though is titled to one audience; the information it holds can be applied to any faith, gender, age or race. Areina Jerran has created this manual to enlighten a mass of people.
