These last two years have been a steep learning curve for me.
Firstly the flight to Dubai and being caught up in volcanic ash confusion, and that all comes back with the current ash cloud stuff up! Then seeing my twin so sick....a great shock but at least I got to spend six weeks with her,,,little realizing it would be the last. I don't know what I would have changed for her but I would have made more definite memories I think.
Then that phone call from my son...come home Dad is in hospital and he needs you. Yes he did with bowel and rectal cancer and now a colostomy...what a change in life styles. I seemed to spend all my time in hospital(as he was very hard of hearing so I had to repeat what doctors and proffessionals told him.
Then I had a serious fall and now have osteo down my left side...very painful. and eyesight affected by diabetes. So what do I do?
Well Monday I go for heart walks we started off with 4 of us and the group has grown to 14!!! We have an hours walk then a coffee and a chat at the centre. Tuesday is Health My Way where a small group of 4 again we decided to become health conscious, health smart and help other carers who have been too busy caring for friends and family to look after themselves. Then onto Heart Moves which is gently exercise but you use every muscle in your body!!! Still a great bunch of Ladies and a few gentlemen as well. Wednesday is craft day or cleaning...depends on what I feel like. Thursday I help with the local City Mission op shop as a volunteer. Friday seems to be shopping and cooking....ah well the real world intrudes sometimes.
So yes ayear of roses( with help from family and friends) and sighs(I miss my twin so much...she died 6 weeks after I left the UK) Hence some of my poetry reflects my feelings. Anyway Hugs to all my friends.
