Inspirational Love Story Wins National Award
June 16, 2009 – Port Richey, Florida - Valerie Anne Faulkner, author of I Must Be in Heaven, a promise kept, was recently awarded first place in the 2009 Next Generation Indie Book Awards: Inspirational category. Independent Book Publishing Professionals Group presented the award to Faulkner in May 2009. Next Generation Indie Book Awards honor the most exceptional independently published books of the year. Faulkner’s book and the award were showcased in a publication given out at the Book Expo America, held at the Jacob Javits Center in New York City early this month.
Valerie is a longtime resident of Port Richey, FL and a native of Long Island. She works with her husband Bill as an electrician by day and as “the back porch writer” by evening. She was inspired to begin writing four years ago. “It is so wonderful and exciting to receive such a prestigious award for my first novel,” says the decidedly “youthful” 59 year old author. “I was thrilled to receive the Royal Palm Literary Award last fall from the Florida Writers Association and now this—I’m ecstatic!”
Published in 2008, I Must Be in Heaven, a promise kept is a true inspirational love story that illustrates how love and faith can provide hope to the soul, even in the most catastrophic of circumstances. Valerie suddenly finds herself lost and alone in the labyrinth of hospital rooms and intensive care units, while her husband who has suffered a near fatal brain aneurysm lies near death in a coma. As she prays for a miracle, a simple and vivid account of the life she and her husband have shared and the interconnection with caring strangers unfolds.
