Author Tucker spoke to Altrusa Club members about her work as a movie critic and related amusing anecdotes from her life-at-the-movies memoir. "I've been fortunate to meet and/or interview stars like Angelina, Jolie, Annette Bening, Charlton Heston, Debbie Reynolds, Guy Pearce, Ian McKellen, Brendan Fraser, Anjelica Huston, and Susan Sarandon," Tucker said.
"Some of my interactions with celebrities have ended up with hysterical results -- but the joke was always on me," she added before reading some humorous examples from her memoir.
Tucker reported being pleased when people tell her they laughed out loud
while reading her book. She mentioned a review by the editor of National Film PreVue Magazine who wrote, "If Oscars were given out for the funniest book of the year, CONFESSIONS OF A MOVIE ADDICT would win, hands down."
