Val Wake, an Australian born writer, who spent four years in the Canadian Arctic was pleased by the choice of his title in the prize list.
" To be in the company of such a distinguished group of Canadian authors is an honour indeed. I hope Canadians will take the time to read my work and maybe gain an insight into the workings of the native rights movement during a critical time in its development," said Val Wake speaking from his retirement home in Port Macquarie, Australia.
John Mutford's online book discussion forum is called The Book Mine Set. John has lived in the north for seven years, he is married and he and his wife has two children.
