FIVE STAR CELEBRATES 24 YEARS
WITH YEAR-LONG DISCOUNT PROGRAM
CHANDLER, AZ (September 14, 2009) - For 24 years Five Star Publications, Inc., headed up by multi award-winning publisher, marketer and author Linda Radke, has been churning out quality books in a host of genres including everything from westerns and cookbooks, to children's books, memoirs and mysteries. To mark the company's 24-year anniversary and usher in its quarter-century mark, Five Star offers all customers who purchase books online at www.FiveStarPublications.com a 24 percent discount valid through August, 2010.
Long before self-publishing was commonplace and it was much more difficult to break into national distribution systems, Radke successfully published and distributed two books for a household employment agency she owned back in the '80s.
"I created a couple of books on hiring household help," she explains. "The experience of publishing was so rewarding that I sold the agency, and began Five Star Publications without looking back."
In its infancy, Five Star Publications offered self-publishing assistance and traditional publishing, but soon Radke realized self-publishers didn't always have the know-how to be successful, yet traditionally publishing everyone that approached her wasn't a wise business model, so she pioneered partnership publishing, where she and the author share the expenses of publishing and marketing. This frees up funds for Five Star to give more support to authors than traditional publishers, offer a larger cut of the profits to authors and train them to eventually become their own publisher if they choose to do so. In addition, Five Star offers aspiring self-publishers assistance with editing, graphic designing, proofreading, indexing, publishing, marketing and website design on an á la carte basis.
Most recently, Five Star Publications launched Five Star Book Nooks, book niches for art galleries, stores, specialty boutiques, museums and other outlets; and Five Star Book-A-Paloozas, which are fun, cozy reading alcoves in galleries, stores and museums for the younger generation.
