“INSIGHTS” Honored as “Finalist” In the National “Best Books 2010” Awards

Robert Egby''s "INSIGHTS:The Healing Path of the Radical Spiritualist" has scooped a "Finalist" Award in the US Book News Awards 2010.

CHAUMONT, New York.  Robert Egby’s latest book “INSIGHTS: The Healing Paths of the Radical Spiritualist” has been honored as “Finalist” in the “Self-Help: Motivational” category in the National “Best Books 2010” Awards.

The award was announced today by USA Book News, the premiere online magazine and review website for mainstream and independent publishing houses. It is the second time, one of Egby’s books has reaped a “Finalist” award. In 2009 “The Quest of the Radical Spiritualist” was honored both in the “National” and “International” Best Book Awards.

Jeffrey Keen, President and CEO of USABookNews.com, said this year’s contest yielded an unprecedented number of entries, which were then narrowed down to over 500 winners and finalists. He says of the awards, now in their eighth year, “The 2010 results represent a phenomenal mix of books from a wide array of publishers throughout the United States.

“Insights,” published in May this year challenges spiritual healers to broaden their scope and get more involved in the healing arts, both clinically and metaphysically. Author Robert Egby says “Many healers are stuck in one modality such as Reiki, hands-on healing, or something like hypnosis or sound healing,” says Egby. “We live in a world where people are becoming more complex every day and healers need to become more ambidextrous, more explorative, and more intuitive.”

Egby says he’s come across hypnosis practitioners who refuse to acknowledge past life imprints because they, the practitioners, have limitations. There are spirit healers who work like mechanical robots, never questioning Spirit or conducting research. These are lost opportunities, he says.

The author has worked for over twenty years as a hypnosis practitioner, sound healer, dowser, hands-on healer, EFT practitioner and Spiritualist medium in British Columbia and Washington State, New Jersey, and upstate New York.

The 244-page book relates various healing stories, such as the Vietnam hero who needed more time to stay alive, a sick young mother who discovered she was sleeping on a “cancer bed” that killed both her parents, and a Caucasian Canadian who spoke Chinese frequently in his sleep. In past life therapy the Canadian recalled being a soldier in the Sino-Japanese war of 1937, a revelation that changed his life.

The book covers many healing aspects, including hands-on, therapeutic touch, image healing, self-hypnosis, regression, dowsing for geopathic zones, color and sound healing, plus ways of spiritually helping the dying to cross over.

Spiritual healers could also get more involved by venturing out to perform rescue healing for unfortunate earthbound spirits, says Egby who has performed countless spirit rescues. He recounts a vacation he took in New Mexico last year and how reluctantly he visited an old abandoned mine that the guide books described as “not much to see.” There, to his surprise, he discovered eight earthbound spirits and helped them cross-over safely into the Spirit World. “My guides can be very persuasive,” he says, adding, “They also helped me write the book.”

Spirit Rescue is, I believe, the ultimate healing, but it does not appear to have high priority among Spiritualist healers.

Robert Egby who lives in Chaumont, NY is one of a growing number of Independent Publishers. His business Three Mile Point Publishing, is a member of the IBPA – Independent Book Publishers Association, and SPAN, the Small Publishers of North America. Robert is a member of the Chambers of Commerce in Cape Vincent and Alexandria Bay, and is available for free talks and seminars on the healing modalities and events depicted in his books.
