Driving to Hot Springs from the foothills of the Ozarks in October is a delight. Arkansas is not called the Natural State by accident. Glorious color outside the car windows made the hours fly by.
It is a thrill to be in the company of gifted poets, members of Poets' Roundtable of Arkansas, each year on Poetry Day. Our Friday night readaround was a total delight. Forty or so poets reading humorous poems was a serotonin blast.
Saturday's award presentations wound up being a special joy since I garnered 3rd HM in the Bob and Faye Williams Jones free verse category with "Encouragement" and 1HM in the Norton Family Memorial section for "Life-Lesson Learned".
Being among peers stimulates, challenges and lifts me.
