What an interesting journey it has been to work with my narrator, Anne Damman, to bring my humorous novel into life as an audio book. Anne and I live in different parts of the country. We never met, and only communicated by email. It was fun, exciting, and the jokes were many when it came to differences of pronunciation. Yes, we do have many Native American name places out here in the Pacific Northwest where the novel is set. For excample, the kane in Spokane is not pronounced as in raising cane, but like can you do the can-can. LOL! We had some frustrations with a modem outage on my end, and technical glitches in Anne's studio. And then there was a time, about half-way through the book, when Anne was plagued with allergies. Nothing that might bother her normally, but with a change in the timbre of her voice, she had to give it a rest for a few days. But all in all, it was great fun to work together. And now, Confessions of a Predatory Lender, that previously only existed in the written word, is now transformed into the spoken word as well.
Anne Damman is a narrator, voice teacher, and theatre actress. She is also the voice of Chevrolet, appearing at car shows in various parts of the country.
In addition to Confessions of a Predatory Lender, I am also the author of Irretrievably Broken, a novel, and a collection of short stories in The Angel of Death series. Contrary to false rumors circulating throughout the book world, I am not the predatory lender.
