LATEST NEWS: The "law" has been put into effect. The use of restraints on the mentally ill (even those, say, who are paranoid schizophrenic and ready to throw a TV at you), is prohibited whenever and wherever possible. Tying someone down to a bed so that he or she can barely move, hurts a person's spirit and dignity more than it pains one physically. Having one's wrists and ankles tethered like a goat or bull at a rodeo PAINS us. Needless to say, we are all human, not animals. Our bodies and spirits should remain intact. Would you want this torture inflicted upon your mother? Your best friend? At long last!!! The relief and gratitude I feel are immeasurable! Let's take another step towards humane treatment for the mentally ill (and those so labeled).
