The above ‘blurb’ refers to the original release of Terry Lloyd Vinson’s 2003 novel ‘Mr. Hate’. When published by the now defunct Electric Ebook Company in late May of 2003, the finished product was not what the author had originally intended. With elements of suspense, mystery, drama, not to mention a final fifty pages that could only be labeled as hardcore horror, Vinson had considered this full-length novel the best piece of fiction he’d written.
That said, the novel that saw publication was one he could hardly be proud of. The publishing company had performed only a light copy-edit of the manuscript before releasing the electronic and POD book, essentially overlooking several glaring punctuation and grammatical errors that could have easily been corrected if the author had simply been permitted a PDF proof to look over before the printing.
Obviously, the EEB Company wasn’t concerned with quality, but quantity of books sold.
When the EEB Company vanished from the publishing scene in May 2005, Vinson saw an opportunity to have his original vision reworked and published by a more reputable company.
In stepped Deron Douglas with Double Dragon Publishing to save the literary day. Thus, 2007 will see a rebirth of a sorts entitled ‘Mister Hate: The Author’s UNCUT Version’, a re-edited, re-written (in spots), re-imagining re-release (whew!) from Double Dragon Publishing.
It is truly difficult to pigeonhole this project into a single genre, though suspense/mystery probably holds the most weight.
The author anxiously awaits the rebirth, as his original vision can finally be put on display. Fans of the original have stated it has one of the more original ‘twist’ endings they’ve read. Most were thrilled…others a bit frustrated. Either way, all the plot twists remain intact for future critique.
‘Mister Hate: The Author’s UNCUT Version’ will be on sale sometime in 2007 by Double-Dragon Publishing in both ebook and paperback format.
