Pat Avery, Joyce Faulkner and Carolyn Howard-Johnson, sometimes known as THE FRUGAL BOOK PROMOTER, have published a journal with a promotional twist.
Published by Red Engine Press (redenginepress.com) "The Complete Writer's Journal" is an example of a useful cross-promotion effort. Each author quoted (100 of them!) will promoting the journal itself (and by extension, the first "The Complete Writer" book, also published by REP).
Kristie Leigh Maguire, publisher of Jada Star (starpublish.com) and one of the quoted authors
says,
"Yesterday I received my copies of the Journal that I ordered. They are BEAUTIFULLY done!"
Each contributing author will use the journals differently, but Howard-Johnson plans to use them as thank you gifts to editors and producers (they won't get tossed like many doo-dad type souvenir gifts); she plans to personalize these gift journals with a permanent thank yous as entries on the first pages.
Some participating authors are using them as an add-on sales to their own books at bookfairs. Many are giving them to friends for the holidays.
Of course, anyone can use them for gifts for people who journal or write or draw or travel. They are attractive and, on occasion, funny or inspirational.
Order them from Howard-Johnson by sending an e-mail to HoJoNews.aolcom or at:

As a service, THE COMPLETE WRITER'S JOURNAL is also available in bulk at special prices.
Howard-Johnson's THE FRUGAL BOOK PROMOTER was named USA Book News' Best Professional Book and her campaign for it captered the Irwin Award from the Book Publicists of Southern California. She is the author of three other books, all award-winners.
