 Odo and the Time Children

Two children, Turnip and Meadowsweet, go down to the river’s edge to play. They’ve taken a coin to wash in the water but the old, precious coin slips from Turnip’s fingers and is lost. As they lament their bad luck, they hear a voice from behind them. It is Odo, the cat, and their adventure begins. Magic pins, time travel, a seasick feline and a trip to the twenty-first century makes the trio’s day more than it starts out to be. They meet all sorts of characters and see many things that are nothing like what they’re used to seeing.

Odo and the Time Children is a wonderful story! Odo, Turnip and Meadowsweet are all delightful. Their adventure is perfectly charming! The things they see that amaze them, especially combustion engines and the effect they have in the modern world, are shown so vividly that I felt as if I were seeing them for the first time, too. Dolores the mouse is fun and will make children giggle. The other secondary characters are also engaging. I couldn’t find anything not to love about this book. One of the best parts is that Che Dee has left it open so that the engaging threesome could, hopefully, go on many more adventures! Wonderful story, clear writing and memorable characters make Odo and the Time Children a tale to remember!
