getting what you want is possible for everyone that believes it

Greetings genius crew, I hope you have made the best of Christmas and your holidays. All my best to you and your family, I have spent my first Christmas and new years after thirteen years in my home town; so it’s been cold but great.

Are you going to do what you really love doing this year?

Are you going to take a step

So what has 2009 got in store for you?

That’s a really great question, especially when you understand that your thoughts create your world. It’s as important as knowing this means 2009 can be predicted for you right now.

Now is the time to create your future. The first step is to really know what you want to achieve this year; next step is to write it down. Write it in such a way that you see it every day in your diary, have it as your screensaver on your phone, and have it in your bathroom. Matt Morris gave a great example on this, he had post it notes with $10,000 everywhere all over the house, on the fridge in the bedroom, you couldn’t go anywhere without seeing it.

This will keep you in check and keep it in your vision. Alongside writing down what you want, it’s also just as important to write down why you want it. See the why will determine the how.

Now on the journey to your destination; there are going to be lots of great ideas that will distract you. You’re probably wondering; how can a great idea be a distraction? When you insert the coordinates of where you wish to go, the journey to reach your destination is a long road which is only there because you thought it would be a good idea. You had lots of reasons why you chose your destination/goal. Whilst travelling on that road it’s possible that you will be faced and presented with other great ideas and opportunities; all of which will have their own road which you must travel to accomplish them. I’m particularly mentioning this because it is something I experienced last year. It’s something that I’ve got burnt from but I’ve also learnt from.

See great ideas and opportunities will always be there; you’ll never lose an opportunity, you will only lose focus. What does this mean? In my experience, I’ve met so many people that have achieved greatness. The key was, they had passion and they weren’t distracted by other ideas. This just means that every day they devoted some time, from five minutes to one hour or more on where they wanted to be. This is evident when looking at the human body in order to grow muscles or lose weight; the fact is this: you must repeat exercises daily. You must repeat them continuously, Tony Robbin’s calls this ‘spaced repetition’. I had the pleasure of spending time with a gentleman by the name of Mervyn Niland; an amazing man. He talked about the twenty four hours in the day. We all have this same amount of time. The question is; what are you going to do with your time? If spending ten minutes a day focussing on what it is you want to achieve in 2009, would it be worthwhile? This is where your why’s will take care of your how’s.

Let’s keep it simple and keep it easy. Paint a picture in your mind on how you would like to see 2009. Describe it in as much detail as you can; and follow that by the reasons why you want it. And remember the more reasons you have, the more you increase your chances of it happening. Stick post it notes to remind you and ask yourself, how much time can I devote per day towards making it happen? You may just want to start with ten minutes a day, once you get into a habit of ten minutes, you can increase. Write down what actions you have taken each day towards your goal. You can do this in a diary format. Also remember, you will never lose opportunities, you will only lose focus. Opportunities are always there and always will be. Focus is the key.

May 2009 be everything you want it to be.
