British author Ken Ryeland has beaten dozens of other nominations to win the Book Awards for September 2009. The awards are unique in that the people who purchase and read each nomination, rather than a small committee of judges, vote for them.
The Book Awards director, Peter Lihou, commented on Ken's win.
"The Last Bature (pronounced Batuuree) clearly has a very loyal and satisfied following. We have received thousands of votes since the awards began (formally known as the Amazon Clicks Awards) over a year ago and this is one competition that places the worlds best sellers along side less well known titles, so winning is no mean achievement. Ken has our hearty congratulations for his win and for writing an excellant story in The Last Bature."
