Debut espionage novel, Deadly Exchange, by Geoffrey M. Gluckman, earned recognition
with an Honorable Mention in Fiction at the 2009 Los Angeles Book Festival.
In the novel, Jennifer Chance, the main character, joins forces with a former
counterintelligence agent to thwart a plot by a large American corporation intent on using radio frequencies (RFID) to subdue and control the United States populace.
At the Festival, the stiff competition was topped by two-time Pulitzer Prize winning
journalist, Liz Balmaseda, author of Sweet Mary: A Novel, which took home the Grand
Prize awarded in Fiction. The awards ceremony enlivened the Blossom Room at the
Roosevelt Hotel in Los Angeles on February 25, 2010.
