| This Amazon review by Aimee just made my day. She really understood the characters and expressed it wonderfully. . |
The Crimson Bed was a gift to me, and I'm so glad I had the opportunity to read this wonderful story. From the opening page, the historical content effortlessly flowed through the backdrop and entwined each character in a dark and gripping Victorian tale, pulling the reader into a world of secrets and deception.
Frederic, Ellie, Henry and all the other characters are refreshingly original, like no others I have come across, and it was so pleasant to read a historical romance with a difference. Each character is so distinct and as a reader I found myself being drawn into their lives, not only for the romance, but the darker aspects that each have to live through. They all have their secrets and the darkness that shadows them consumes their chance of happiness. Even after Frederic and Ellie's romance, they have struggles to overcome their past.
Beautiful and effortlessly detailed to the end, this is by far one of my highest recommendations to those who love historical romance, or anyone searching for a good read.
