The London Book Festival honored recipients at an awards ceremony January 20, 2011 at Grosvenor House near London’s Mayfair district, London’s literary hub. The biography was awarded Honorable Mention in its category and was judged by a panel of publishing industry experts using the following criteria: 1. This is the second award for the recently released biography of the legendary actress Amanda Blake known worldwide as “Miss Kitty” from the classic western television series Gunsmoke. The show aired on CBS twenty years playing to an international audience estimated at 850 million and continues to be shown in syndication fifty five years after its 1955 premier. Perfectly Amanda: Gunsmoke’s Miss Kitty includes many Gunsmoke memories and answers the three questions most often asked of Miss Blake: How did you get the part of Miss Kitty? Why didn’t Marshal Dillon and Miss Kitty ever marry? Why didn’t the Marshal ever kiss Kitty?
