"If you wish to cozy up with a good cozy mystery, Murder of the Bride will hit the spot.

Rex Graves, the Scottish barrister, and his fiancée Helen have travelled to Aston-on-Trent in Derbyshire to attend a wedding. One of Helen’s former students is the bride and all Graves and Helen are looking for is a nice time. They get a lot more when the bride, the bridegroom, and the bride’s mother all fall deathly ill at the reception. Of course, Rex “has” to become involved in the investigation.

How did it happen that of all the attendees at the reception only those most intimately connected to the bridal party fell ill? Who could have had it in for the happy couple? Or, was the mother the real target? And, why was the parson who performed the service also struck down?

Well, plenty of people had opportunity but only a couple had means and motive and it’s up to Rex and the local police to determine who had death on their mind at the bride’s happiest day of her life. One of the cordially invited guests definitely had non-cordial intent.

This is a small book in size but as befits a cozy, it is an entertaining read. There’s enough intrigue to keep readers happily occupied for a few hours."
