by Robert Amoroso

Novelist and marketing professional Bob Amoroso along with Ecco Solutions, Inc. are happy to announce a series of “interactive” workshops, targeted to both aspiring writers and first time authors.

Mr. Amoroso (Amo), author of JOURNEY will be hosting a series of workshops dedicated to promoting, marketing and maximizing book signing events. Aside from writing novels, Mr. Amoroso is a marketing professional with over 25 years of advertising, marketing and graphic design experience.

His expertise within the industry is well documented, starting out as a graphic designer in the mid 60’s to owning is own advertising and marketing service, in the 80’s,
Mr. Amoroso has worked in every facet of marketing and promotion.

As a novelist, he has successfully promoted JOURNEY in the marketplace, and is one of PublishAmerica’s most successful book signers, with book signing events all over New York City and the surrounding areas. He recently was asked by his publisher (PublishAmerica) to host one of the workshops at their February convention in Fredrick, Maryland. Mr. Amoroso spoke to approximately 100 authors in an 80 minute workshop.

Ecco Solutions, Inc. is an interactive media company, hosting “Live Meetings” and audio conferencing. Simply stated “Live Meetings” is an innovative concept in how workshops can be hosted, physically in one location while people participating can be virtually anywhere in the country. They simply log on to their computer at the designated time of the workshop…and of course being interactive they participate fully with questions and answers.

Registration Fee
$60 (for one workshop)
$50 (for two or more workshops)

Registration Deadline: April 9th 2004

April 16th (Friday) 2:00-3:30 pm Eastern Time
May 7th (Friday) 7:00-8:30 pm Eastern Time

Workshop Topic: “Promoting your Book in the Marketplace…Marketing 101”
This workshop will focus on the basics, in how to promote your book in the marketplace. As first time published authors we face the daily challenge of “getting the word out”. This workshop will discuss the basic principles of marketing and take you step by step into the process. From creating cost effective marketing promotions, to networking. This workshop will run 90 minutes

May 21st (Friday) 2:00-3:30 pm Eastern Time
June 4th (Friday) 7:00-8:30 pm Eastern Time

Workshop Topic: “How to Create Eye Catching Promotions on a Budget”
This workshop will focus on creating professionally designed promotional materials, using your own computer. We’ll discuss how to create graphically designed flyers, direct mail promotions, press releases and a host of other promotional materials. I’ll demonstrate the how’s and why’s of using graphics, as a marketing tool. I’ll take you step by step in how to design your promotions, and how each promotion piece should be used. If you know nothing about the creative process, this workshop is for you. This workshop will run 90 minutes.

June 18th (Friday) 2:00-3:00 pm Eastern Time
July 9th (Friday) 7:00-8:00 pm Eastern Time

Workshop Topic “How to Secure and Optimize Book Signing Events”
This workshop will focus on securing and optimizing your book signing events. I’ll demonstrate the basic principles in securing a book signing. How to approach an Events Manager, and once you do, how to sell yourself. We’ll also discuss in detail, once you’ve secured a book signing how to maximize your event through both marketing techniques and salesmanship. We’ll also discuss and demonstrate how you can increase customer traffic, by using some simple marketing techniques. This workshop will run 60 minutes.

July 23rd (Friday) 2:00-3:00 pm Eastern Time
Aug 6th (Friday) 7:00-8:00 pm Eastern Time

Workshop Topic “The ABC’s of Selling your Book”
This workshop will focus in on the principles of basic salesmanship. Many of my colleges and first time authors find it nerve racking when it comes to selling. Some of us are natural born sales people, we know how to converse naturally with others and we’re comfortable in front of a crowd. We’ll discuss how to approach the media, events managers, book sellers, publishers, and others. We’ll go through the basic principles of sales and how to view your book, as a “product” rather then this mystical abstract. How to use “buzz words” that will open doors, how to ask open ended questions that will get you answers and a host of sales techniques that will get you noticed in the marketplace. This workshop will run 60 minutes.

Aug. 20th (Friday) 2:00-3:00 pm Eastern Time
Sept. 3ed (Friday) 7:00-8:00 pm Eastern Time

Workshop Topic: “Networking Your Way to Greater Sales”
This workshop will focus on how a well organized networking effort can increase overall sales. Many of my colleges and first time authors find it difficult to network because of the time, the detail and fellow through that is required. However a comprehensive networking program combined with your promotion, marketing and sales efforts, can increase overall sales dramatically. This workshop will focus in on how to streamline your networking efforts, how to source out potential contacts, how to utilize effectively directories and databases, what to look for when buying targeted mailing lists, etc. This workshop will be run 60 minutes.

If there is an interest in attending any of the above workshops, please contact me either my web page or at
