Subject: Whose Birthday Is It?

Imagine if you will, it's your birthday. The day that you were born. The one day within the whole year that's set aside to remember your arrival. It's special, right? You look for a "happy birthday" wish at the very least. And most of us look for presents and gifts!
If it's my birthday, I don't look for you to give gifts to my daughter or my sister--If there's to be any gift giving on my birthday~I want the gift!
So, why on the day that we set aside to acknowledge the birth of our Creator, do we go in debt buying gifts for everyone but the Saviour?
When the little drummer boy realized he had no gift fit to give the King of Glory, he reached inside himself and brought forth music to honor Him. He played his best for Him. He gave the Son of God his best and God smiled upon him.
That's what I want to give this year, in honor of the birth of my Lord and Saviour. I desire to give God my best. I'm working on giving Him total obedience for His birthday. I haven't always given that in the past. I want to give Him, for His birthday this year, even more commitment. I want to show Him that I'm beginning to look more and more like Him (that really pleases Him.)You know He created us in His image and when we begin to really take on His likeness, it pleases Him to no end! I want to be free of anything that would seek to separate me from the love of God, and to give Him a yielded vessel with which to work. That's my reasonable service.
I want to show my appreciation for a Saviour that was touched by the suffering of humanity and decided to wrap Himself in flesh and dwell among us. I'm appreciative that Jesus hungered, thirst, wept and confronted the enemy of our souls. I'm so grateful that our Lord defeated the devil and got for us the Victory! I thank God that Jesus made Himself of no reputation, He concerned Himself with a much greater cause~our salvation! I can't thank Him enough for dying in the Garden of Gethsemane (death to the flesh)because I still need to kill some flesh off, and I have His example to guide me. I can't tell you how thankful I am that when God looked around to see who He could send to redeem us, Jesus said "Here am I, send Me." God Himself emptied out a portion of His divinity, wrapped Himself in flesh and came from Glory. Emmanuel, God with us.
We don't have a God that can't relate to our struggles and heartaches. Jesus walked this earth as Son of man and Son of God, yet He never reverted to His divinity while on earth. He came to show us how to walk out our salvation. He was born to die for our sins.
So, For Jesus' birthday this year, I want to give Him my best, my first, and my last. He is the center of my joy. He is the reason for this season. He deserves the glory and the honor. He deserves the gifts. It is His birthday that takes priority during this season. Give Him the only gift that He desires this year-give Him you!

Have a God Blessed Holiday Season!
