Wow! It's been awhile since we've talked! How are you? Has your life been busy? What have you been up to lately?
Welcome to all of my new friends - over 40 of you! It's great to have you join us. Please drop me a note anytime. I love hearing from you!
On May 2, I spoke with a wonderful group of women, youth, and girls at the Ladies Spring Banquet at Good News Baptist Church. What a great time we had together! The food was delicious, served by the men and boys of the church. We laughed and cried (in all the right places - LOL!). I was treated well from the moment I stepped foot in the door. These women are great! Thanks for allowing me the privilege of speaking to your fine group. You are such a blessing!
As usual, I had a blast at Southwestern Elementary again this year! The kids are attentive and really get into the writing workshop activities. The third and fourth grades collaborated on two very creative stories about my donkey, Pockets, and goat, Ed. This is the last year for the seventh and eighth grade students to attend the school. I wish you well as you transition into your new school. Drop me a note to let me know how things are going.
Thank you to everyone who responded to my book research question last time: What shoes do you wear for the jobs you do? There were some unexpected answers too. One lady wears steel-toed shoes for safety. Another wears slippers to work - the company makes them! That would be comfy! Moms all said they wear different shoes for the occasion, anything from no shoes, slippers, flip-flops, heals - you name it! A mom's work must encompass a lot of different areas, requiring different shoe apparel. And, some of you just really like shoes - all kinds! Several of you have asked how that book is coming. Thanks to all of you, I have some new ideas and creative things to add to my proposal. I'll keep you posted!
Book IV in the For Hymn Mysteries has unfortunately slowed down due to spring activities. I hope to get back into that at full speed when school is out - only 6 more days!!! I am so excited!!
There are updates to my website now: more pictures of new critters (Yes, we have more! Can you believe it? This zoo keeps growing!) and shopping carts, allowing you easy access to ordering any of my signed books directly from me. I hope you all take advantage of this with the special savings for my internet friends. :)
Catch me on Facebook or MySpace - Paula F Blevins. I love chatting with you there!
Anxious to hear from you,
Paula
