BLACK PLANKTON PRESS

SEWERELF

Black Plankton Press announces SEWERELF, a new novel by Dan Weiss. This unique blend of speculative fiction and fantasy features some of what readers have come to expect from Dan Weiss novels: reality one half step removed; a riveting, nightmarish feel, with a sense of humor; sociological implications without preaching; a near complete lack of predictablitly; and vestiges of magic, even in the bleakest of futures.

THE REJECTED QUARTERLY

Also new for Black Plankton Press is issue #7 of The Rejected Quarterly. This issue features fiction by Josh Reims and Greg Luthi; an Art of Rejection column by Ed Biffle; an interview with Jacob Weisman; and of course Words from the Weiss; Schlagel Press Strategy; book reviews, and our poll.

IN THE FUTURE

The next issue of TRQ will feature fiction by Vera Searles and Mary Rogers, amoung others; a fascinating interview with novelist, artist, and ex-Kink Pete Quaife; reviews of fairly old, near classic science ficiton novels, Words from the Weiss, Schlagel Press Strategy, etc. Due out in late April/early May.

A slightly revised version of Dan Weiss' Snugglarea is due to be released in early summer. This humorous speculative fiction novel garnered some of the most interesting and positive rejections of Dan Weiss' career. Called "a combination of Monty Python, 1984, and Phillip K. Dick, the book is in fact much more. Set in a bored world of the near future, a small group of misfits attempt an impossible revolution against popular opinion. The new edition will correct desin flaws and editing shortcomings found in the current, limited edition. The list price will be &9.95, but advance orders for this multiple viewpoint novel are just $7.50 (no money need be paid now; just sign up!)

Poll Results:

The hottest TRQ Poll ever! Which is more valuable to you, a toaster oven or a stapler? The winner, by a landslide: a stapler!

Possible new poll: If you had to live without one, which would it be, drinking fountains or park benches?
