I know it has been centuries, it seems, since I have posted a newsletter. Life has brought me in so many different directions since I became a published author a few years back. Although both published books were good, they were just hidden gems in the midsts of nearly 3,000,000 Amazon books. I sold so few copies of each, I didn't cover my publishing costs. I believe they are still available at Amazon and Booksurge.
I am still a writer but have found other avenues for my talents. I enrolled in Ashworth College this fall and have already completed my first semester of Pre-Law for my Associates Degree. I intend on then getting my B.A., then with any luck (and money) going to University of Nevada Law School in a few years.
This is a bigger goal than publishing books, and probably farther out of reach than any one can imagine. But we all have an uncanny ability to reach out and accomplish nearly anything if we put forth a creative effort!
I have been a columnist at Parent News magazine for the last year now (www.parentnews.net). Still need to brush up on those spelling and grammar skills, however some of these college classes serve this purpose and I hope to improve.
I have been an advocate for family and parental rights since my first publishings as well for American Family Rights Association. The experience has been 'educational' to say the least.
Currently I enjoy entering contests that feature certain interests I have, and I would like to encourage all of you to give this a try. Entering these contests will give you a sense of mission and accomplishment win, lose or draw. In addition, it helps you center some of your life on YOUR own talents instead of sacrificing all of your time to your family. Most of all the creative challenges to do the best you can is the journey formost second to the goal of winning.
I won a First Place ribbon at the county fair for my Pistachio Layer Cake. My photo submission for our local phone book cover this spring actually placed 3rd, which means it will be featured INSIDE the phone book (see related links to view this wonderful photo). I have just submitted 10 recipes to our annual Lahontan Valley News Holiday Recipe Contest in which I have placed for the last 5 years out of hundreds of entrants.
By far the most important contest entry I am working on is the local Soroptomist Women's Scholorship Award. This will help me pay for many of my college fees and expenses. With my high goals it will be of great help in furthering my educational goals.
My essay for this entry is critical. Thus my writing skills to reach out emotionally to others and touch them is imparative. Pray for me that I win this scholorship, I need it so very much!
Thanks for all your support and keep in touch.

I can't use my credit/debit cards on line since identity theft happened. I may be able to after I re-establish a new bank account. If you haven't recieved your copy of 'innocent insights'after all this time Please, if you would order one directly, then send me the bill with your address and phone number; I will re-imburse you for your costs. I can't apologize enough that this hasn't been resolved sooner.
