Shadow Play Publications welcomes you to Urban Erotic. Newsletter Dated: 6/2/2007 10:26:02 AMSubject: Mississippi Book Club garners new attention, embarks on new endeavors Since November 2006, Conversations Book Club has been changing the way that books are discusssed and read in Mississippi--- and even beyond. Already in 2007 the group has talked directly to over 40 authors through its live discussions and hosted nine authors in personal appearances.
Thanks to the partnership with Medgar Evers Library, the organization has been able to meet twice a week (Tuesdays and Fridays at 6p.m. CST), sharing its love of books with others--- and with favorable results.
Now as the summer approaches, Conversations Book Club prepares for new endeavors and exciting partnerships, thanks to the support of the state of Mississippi.
On Monday, June 4th, C. A. Webb (the founder of the book club) will be the guest for a live worldwide interview on www.artistfirst.com. He will be discussing the success of his sophomore spoken word project MY CONTROVERSY, his upcoming novella DESTINY'S CHILD, his book clubs and other projects. This will take place beginning at 5p.m. CST and will include listeners' emails. You can visit the website and click the LISTEN LIVE button to hear the discussion.
Also in June 2007, the "SUBWAY CONVERSATIONS" Book Club will launch, meeting every 2nd and 4th Thursday at 6:30p.m. at the Subway Restaurant in Pearl, MS (3000 HWY 80 E). The group will discuss books that deal with relevant social issues and relationships. Admission is free, and discounts will be given on all sandwiches. Visit http://subwayconversations.blogspot.com or contact Subway at 601.936.4803 for all the details.
In July 2007, the "WEDNESDAY CONVERSATIONS" Book Club will launch at the Richard Wright Library (515 W. McDowell Road), meeting every 2nd and 4th Wednesday at 6:30p.m. This group will tackle books that focus on family and relationship issues, occassionally being joined by authors either in person or via conference call. Finally, July 2007 will also make more history being made for Conversations and Rankin County as C. A. Webb begins the county's first OPEN MIC NIGHT for poets and performing artists. This will take place at the Subway Restaurant in Pearl as well, beginning Saturday, July 7th. Admission is free, and discounts will be given on all sandwiches.
