For those of you who know the author it should come as no surprise that she has opted for the less orthodox road of publishing through the cutting edge technology of POD (print on demand) books. It prevents the unnecessary slaughter of hundreds of trees as well as allowing the author to be the control freak that she is! In this new publishing arena, however, marketing falls on the shoulders of the author and her readers.
So how can you help? If you're hooked on the saga of Alex and Marissa then spread the word! Write reviews online, forward this newsletter to everyone on your mailing list, be a mini-Oprah and start your own book club or pass around your personal copy of the books.
And now for the exciting news!
"For The Love Of God", Book Two: The Alex and Marissa Saga is now available for order at your favorite online and retail (brick and mortar) bookstores.
The anxiously awaited sequel to "For Crying Out Loud" has an official release date of October 28, 2001 but can be pre-ordered now.
From the publisher: "Social conscience fiction author, C. P. Whitaker, delights in challenging us to 'Stop being sheep!' and to examine our life and the lives of those around us with open minds and open hearts. The author continues to broach subjects such as spirituality, prejudice, alternative lifestyles, organized religion, adoption, reincarnation, psychotherapy and family dysfunction with her trademark wit and wisdom.
"For The Love Of God" picks up where "For Crying Out Loud" left us hanging. Our favorite fictional couple struggles to come to terms with, and work the kinks out of, their transition from friendship to courtship, from couple-dom to parenthood.
Whitaker deftly places the reader in a fly-on-the-wall position as we once again eavesdrop on the couple's therapy sessions. The author dares us to remain in our seats and keep our arms and hands inside the car as we climb on the emotional roller coaster for another ride with old friends.
If you have been hungry for more Alex and Marissa, feast your eyes on this. "For The Love Of God" will fill you up and leave you with plenty to chew on until next time."
