1. EDITORIAL:

Hello and welcome back, everyone. Thanks to all of you who read O Glorious Sky and left your inspiring comments. I really appreciate the time you take to do this. The latest poem I’ve added to my den is called Death’s Door. It was written on a postit notepad a couple months ago and I finally decided to submit it. I have these notepads all over our home and it’s often what I use when I’m inspired to write poems or ideas for stories and articles. It’s a good habit for you to get into too because you’re more apt to forget them if you don’t do it immediately.
In this week’s issue I’m not only offering paying market sites but also write sites that can be of value to you in other ways. Of course I’ve also found some interesting sites in the Potpourri section and I hope you take the time to check them out too. Happy reading and writing everyone!

October 17, 1845 - A Boston newspaper reported the entire audience walked out of a reading of "The Raven". They left over objections to Edgar Allan Poe, the reader and author of the dark poem.

We are looking for stories with humor, surprise endings and interesting characters that will appeal to pre-readers through third grade. Our beginning books are 8-24 pages in length, generally with 1-4 sentences on each page( word counts from 24 to 300.) We are also looking for longer stories written with high interest/lower vocabulary for older students. Remember, our readers are early, emergent and fluent readers in pre-kindergarten through second grade, so vocabulary and sentence structure must be appropriate for the beginning reading levels. Kaeden Books are used in many reading programs such as Reading Recovery (R), English as a Second Language (ESL) and many Title I programs.
