Subject: Autobiography Journal of Sage Sweetwater

Dear Readers,

Autobiography Journal of Sage Sweetwater are my future newsletters for awhile. Some of my fans think I am Stone Creek Woman and have said so. What do you think?

SAGE SWEETWATER CREATIVE PROPERTIES is the flagship of Stone Creek Woman, my autobiography journal, divided into six parts: Shared Blessings, Endangered Species, Sacred Shelters, Canoe Medicine, Moving the Pack, and Reintroduction.

CANOE MEDICINE (continued...)

Like the cedar, Sage had to be smooth and free of knots and twists, so she soaked herself for many hours. When the coals cooled under her "spirit canoe," she draped herself with the community medicine robe, a deerskin tanned and smoked to a buttery brown, and saturated with sunflower oil. She unlaced the sweat flap and went outside of the tipi barefoot to heat more medicine tiles. She paddled them under the "spirit canoe" and ladled water over the coals, steaming out her emotional wrinkles, careful not to puncture her precious "bark."

Whether the vision came from Heaven or Hell, or possibly from the mulled wine, Sage followed the waterways of her soul and sweated out the demons. Her fear had revealed the unexpected source of her painful nightmares.

She saw herself in a reflection of a lake which was surrounded by a petrified forest of aspen and bristlecone pines. She had went to dive into the lake because she was tired of being abused by the red-bearded adopted son of a spiteful woman who had a breast reduction and told the morbid details of how her nipples were cut off during the surgery and stored in a specimen jar.

In this lake, she became a beaver. Her human mother begged her to return to her own world, and thought to drain the lake in an effort to retrieve her, but before the lake had to be siphoned, a lady gave her advice from the bank. "You may hear a voice, but don't swim away. Stay and listen. Be sure you are on the side of the water closest to home. The evil spirit will not cross the water. It will stay on the other side. You have intelligence beyond the usual measure. If you can hear me, slap the water with your pretty tail."

The steam was so thick inside the lodge that she could barely see "The Light." The out of body experience capsized her "spirit canoe." She quickly drained the "beaver pond." The dam broke, the silt oozed, allowing the water of her fear to drain off, leaving her sweating with delirium tremens in a flat pocket of rich soil...

...CANOE MEDICINE to be continued in next month's newsletter.

Stay well dear readers and have a happy, safe Fourth of July holiday! Celebrate your Independence!
