Newsletter Dated: 9/4/2005 7:09:34 AMSubject: What a difference a Week Makes...
Wow, just think, the last time I sent out a newsletter was when we were preparing for the 1st Annual C.A.A.T.S. competition. And now look: in one week's time we have been forced to think outside of our own problems and look at the larger picture.
As we all get back to our routines---and I hope help someone else in the process---here are some things that Shadow Play Entertainment and C. A. Webb are doing to help out in our own way with the Katrina relief efforts:
1) Shadow Play Benefit Cookout (check out www.jacksonfreepress.com for other details): We are providing an outlet for the families affected by nature's fury by throwing another event at Smith Park, Downtown. This will be Saturday, September 10th from 11-6p.m. There will be concession-style food, artwork on display from local artists, free games and events for the kids including face painting, space jump action, train ride, coloring contests and more. We are also providing free entertainment from local talent, including some of the C.A.A.T.S. contestants. This event is being held in connection with Joan Marie Kaye of the American Red Cross and 50% of all proceeds will go towards ARC.
2) The same day we are releasing my new book UNFINISHED BUSINESS, BOOK II at the Microtel Inn and Suites, 7:30p.m. The book is $10 and 25% of all proceeds from the book sales will go to the American Red Cross.
3) Congratulations to all the contestants from the 1st Annual C.A.A.T.S. The winners have been posted on my website. Visit the NEWS tab to view them. We are also pleased to welcome Ashley Solano, Lil' Shane, Related, Azod, Devon, Francis Lewis, Qhoirboy and Denise Powell as new members of the Shadow Play family.
4) We are now preparing for the TEEN C.A.A.T.S. event. The 1st auditions are Saturday, September 17, 2005 at the Microtel Inn and Suites from 8-8p.m. Contestants must be 15-19. Registration fee is $25. Details can be found at the NEWS tab on my site, however $5.00 from each registration will benefit the American Red Cross Katrina Relief Efforts.
