Hello everyone. My name is Shannon, and I am an author residing in a small town in Maine. I work at home, and homeschool my daughters. I am the author of The Pamper Me Site, The Low-Income Way of Life site, and The Homeschool Mom of 2 Website.
I would like to invite you to subscribe to my newsletter. This is where I will keep you updated on my writing career and more. You will learn when I have new articles for you to enjoy, when my websites are updated, when new issues of The Down Home(School) Gazzette are available, and my progress with publishing the books.
Warmest wishes,

A Welcome:
Good afternoon to all of you, and welcome to the third issue of my newsletter. The newsletter will go out whenever I have news to share. At times this may be infrequently, but at least I will not be clogging your email for nothing.
The purpose of this newsletter is to inform you of what is going on with my writing career, as well as in my personal life.
My daughters and I have just ended another homeschool year. We have been doing a lot of walking (I've lost 31 pounds!), and are having one of their friends spend a couple of weeks with us. I am also babysitting my nephews 5 or 6 days a week.
I am busy marketing The Down Home(School) Gazette, The Pamper Me Weekly Tip, and The Adventures in Organization Weekly Tip. This is a time consuming job, but it will be worth it in the end. I am trying to find as many free ways to market the items as I can, then I will start marketing with ways I have to pay a little bit for. Let's face it, if I spend all of money on marketing, I will not be seeing any profits.
Request: If you know of any less known free and low cost ideas for marketing, please e-mail me at slb725writer@aol.com. Thank you.
Check out Aidan M Lucid at http://www.authorsden.com/visit/author.asp?authorID=63853. I reviewed one of his stories, Mr. Benson, which was a very good short story indeed. This was a horror story, which I just love. Here is a copy of my review:
A great tale of horror from Aiden Lucid. This is truly "Horror at it's best." The story is well thought out, and excellently told! I, too, would like to read more tales about Mr. Benson.
Warmest wishes, Shannon Buck Author, The Down Home(School) Gazette

Happenings
So much is going on here.
1. I am busily marketing my ebook, the gazette, and my websites.
2. I am listing all of the free and low cost ways that I can find to market my writings. Once I am done listing, I will combine all of the ideas into my WordPerfect program so that I can print a copy for each item that I need to market. I can then check off things as I do them.
3. I recently created a new website at http://www.ascrappersjourney.com. I give scrapbooking advice here, as well as sell supplies and my own handcrafted items.
4. I have created a free workshop specifically for people who are new to, or who are considering, homeschooling. it is called 'Before You Begin'. New homeschoolers may also find this workshop helpful. The workshop can be found at http://www.thehomeschoolmomof2.com.
5. I am creating two scrapbooking newsletters:one for business owners and one for everyone!
6. I am keeping up with my exercise, and I am eating better.
7. I am losing weight.
8. My daughter is now engaged! To be married next summer, after she fraduates.
9. I have finished updating all of my websites.

Writing for Summer by Shannon Buck
Copyright July 2007
Summer is definitely here. The temperatures in my part of Maine have been in the 90's. We are hoping for some relief soon.
I am currently working on articles, and have been reading the writing newsletters that I receive. I have been gleaning ideas.
For instance, I am thinking about writing some short travel peices to submit to online publications. I am also looking into markets for other short pieces.
As I understand it, these markets do not pay a lot of money. My though on this is that it will not take me long to craft each one, so I do not mind the lower pay that will result from them. Every little bit (of money) helps, right.
I am so busy with my daycare responsibilities right now, and coming up with material for my sites for the autumn months, that I do not have a lot of time to sit and write full length articles. If I can craft one of the short artciles a day, and sell at least a few a week, I may have an extra thirty to sixty dollars a week. That sounds good to me.

The Adventures in Organization Weekly Tip
Some of us are not born organizers. This just not only affect our things, but our cleaning and our lives as well. Not to metion our health and body image.
I have been trying so hard, and have found a couple of sites that have helped me, but I have been unable to find the perfect site/book/system to do the job. While I enjoy a couple of these sources quite a bit, and am using certain things from them, I also have to figure out a lot for myself.
My way to cope with this issue (of mine) is by creating Adventures in Organization. It took me a couple of weeks to set up the website, but it will be well worth it.
Join me in my Adventures in Organization, and we can watch our lives bloom into organized havens for ourselves, our families, and all of those who visit us.
