Hi there readers and fellow authors. I am Willie Tee and I send out newsletters from time to time to keep you informed of the progress I am making in the promotion of my book, The Winds of Destiny, 2nd Edition. I will mention in my newsletter book festivals, speaking engagements and book signings that I attended or will attend in the future. I also inform readers of other fellow authors that I have met and the titles of their books. Importantly, I want to encourage others to become authors, a dream come true, and to provide them guidance on how to become skillful authors.

Subject: Prayers and Positive Thinking

I hope that this newsletter finds both you, the readers of novels, and fellow authors in the best of health. I have attended fewer book signings and engagements this year, because I am working slowly on my third adult book, The Winds of Destiny, subtitled, The Survivors of the Secret. This will be the third and final book of my nonfiction trilogy. The completion date of this book will be some time next year. I write and compose books whenever I am spiritually moved, therefore this is often a slow process.

I was autographing books on May 7, 2006, when three women approached me. I recognized one of the women, who I had spoken often with during other book events. She was now confined to a wheel chair after an operation, which removed a tumor from her brain. The tumor had affected her reasoning and health for about twenty-five years. Recently, it was determined that she had a brain tumor. She grasped my hand upon seeing me. Her sisters explained her tumor operation and how during the past, their sister had exhibited strange behavior because of the brain tumor. The lady is now rapidly regaining her health and reasoning abilities. She can also walk now for short distances and constantly improving. Her sister purchased the lady a copy of my audio book, The Winds of Destiny, 2nd Edition, which I provided at a substantial discount.

This woman’s operation and recovery are symbolic of what faith can do in the healing process. Doctors of psychology often teach that the miraculous healing of the body is often relative to a positive mental attitude and a strong desire to heal one’s afflictions. I know that during the past, we have often watched television shows where ancient medicine men of various cultures created high drama with drums and dancing to encourage the sick and wounded back to health. Their actions were motivational and inspirational. I personally concluded that with all of the whooping and hollering, the ill and afflicted might as well get up and walk and be healed, because who could get any rest with all the racket and noise. Nowadays, we motivate the ill and afflicted with encouraging and comforting words.

Oddly, several days before I met this lady in a wheel chair, I was shopping at a home improvement center and met another lady who was confined to a wheel chair. This lady was an employee at the business and was a greeter with security and access duties. I gave her a free copy of my audio book and had a nice conversation with her. It seems that meeting this woman prepared me for the other lady who was confined to a wheel chair after a brain tumor operation. It is often strange how life takes us down various paths.

Tonight, there was a television program concerning a theoretical outbreak of Avian or Bird Flu. I was not motivated to watch the telecast, because I have been reading extensively about the potential for problems. I have read that there is an insufficient amount of vaccination for the Avian Flu and that there will be a major health dilemma if it mutates. What do we do when there are so few doses of vaccination?

Several hundred years ago there was a plague that was decimating the population in a town named Oberammergau, Germany. I had the privilege of visiting this town during the early 1990s. The plague was devastating and the inhabitants of the city got together and prayed to the Heavenly Father that he lift the deadly plague. The citizens promised that they would praise and worship the divine assistance by presenting a play each year to celebrate the life and resurrection of Jesus. The citizens promised that the play would be held outside in the elements so that the Heavenly Father would see the human drama. Their prayers were answered within a day or two. The play is called the “Passion Play” and it is performed on an out doors stage. The next Passion Play will be held during the year 2010. The actors and actresses in the play are all descendants of the people who prayed for God to spare them from the plague.

In my book, The Winds of Destiny, The Survivors of the Secret, I outlined in this nonfiction saga how my family survived a devastating hurricane during the late nineteen fifties without the lost of life or our homes that were situated at rural North Carolina. We were spared because my Granny used an ancient recipe or “prayer”. She prayed for the preservation of our lives and property and on the next day after the storm, we returned from storm shelters to find both life and property flourishing and intact at our farm. Perhaps prayer on a mass scale is the vaccine that we need to sustain us during the devastating catastrophes that have come and will continue to come during the future. Perhaps the problem is that many people have forgotten how to pray.

It seems sometime that no matter how hard we work, earn and create, that we are still behind the power curb or in a rut. Most of the time these extreme efforts are bad remedies for success, because we are spinning our wheels. However, when we add faith to the equation and are convinced that we can succeed despite the odds, we accomplish wondrous things with far less effort. Sometimes we have to get out of the rat races, stop, and evaluate our directions and goals. Then we can determine workable solutions for our problems, whether they are financial or otherwise. Many times, the solutions for our problems are within out reach, but we are moving so fast in the game of life, that we lose common sense and direction. I invite you to jump out of the rat race, evaluate your goals and direction, have faith that you can succeed and go for the gold. My Pastor often states that we have already been given everything that we need to succeed. We must make use of our talents and skills.
